I am a long time Canon shooter who just purchased this excellent Sigma 150mm Macro lens. I had the Canon 100mm Macro lens before and I loved that lens. This Sigma one looks like it is a very capable big brother to the Canon 100mm lens. The sharpness, color and out of focus blur are all excellent. Focusing is a bit weak on this lens, especially when you are doing close focusing work. The increase in weight is noticeable when compared to my Canon 100mm Macro lens. Even when you compare it to the Canon 70-200mm f/4L lens, the weight is still noticeable. Still, macros are typically taken with tripods, so it really is not be a big deal. The 150mm focal length provides a comfortable working distance which makes it easier to chase after flying flies and insects. The bottom line is that this lens is a good lens for the money.
